About

Fleur Stebis (artist name: Fleur Sille) was born in 2004, Assen, in the north of the Netherlands. She has been passionate about drawing for as long as she can remember, but only began painting at the age of fifteen. During a class with artist Carolien van Olphen, she discovered the power of palette mixing and working from observation- an experience that confirmed her affinity for figurative art.

At sixteen, she was accepted into the painting program at The Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, where she lived and studied from 2021 to 2025. At nineteen, she became the youngest graduate in the academy’s history (founded in 1991), as well as the youngest student awarded a fourth-year residency. She taught the intermediate painting program for a year, working among others as an assistant to Tanvi Pathare.

Fleur’s work has since received broad recognition. She earned an Honorable Mention in The Future Generation Competition of the Portrait Society of America for her painting Siren, and in 2023 she won First Prize in the international ARC Scholarship Competition of the Art Renewal Center.

In November 2025, her portrait of the King’s Commissioner, Jetta Klijnsma, was officially unveiled and added to the collection of the Provincial Government Building of Drenthe.
